Um... hullo. Might as well cut to the chase. Reasons I haven't been uploading stuff to DA:
1. First year of college. Only scanner is at the library. Didn't know it existed until about a month ago.
2. Avatar Finale last year bummed me out. It had fantastic animation, but I was underwhelmed in terms of story.
3. I got into both Discworld and Doctor Who about nine months ago. I still love Avatar, but I wasn't inspired to draw fanart for it as much. (I have - on the other hand - been sketching a lot of Discworld peoples. Yes, Katara is holding a mini-figure of Susan Sto Helit in her hand.)
4. I really want to change my username to match my LJ, but that means making a new account.
That said. I got a tablet today. It was twenty bucks off since the store had been using it for a demo. More stuff will be coming soon. Not sure how much will be Avatar related. I've been shifting more towards a Western style. It's more fun.

Oh, I had nothing against the show in terms of shipping. (And now I remember why I sort of drifted out of fandom. The only other people I saw who were less than totally pleased with it were the crazy shippers and... yeah.)
But my main problem with it was that the lion turtle reeked of Deus Ex Machina. It let Aang get out of any pesky moral decisions that the show had been leading towards up until then. There was no build-up for the turtle and his powers, barely any forshadowing. Oh yes, there was a scroll in Wan Shi Tong's library and statues in Pian Dao's place, but they were just images and names. There were several filler episodes in beginning of Season 3; if Mike and Bryan needed more space they could have cut some time out of those.
...I had a whole rant in my LJ when the episodes first aired.

^ I've had that up there since 12-2-06. Now that the new season's out, am I too lazy to change it? You betcha.
When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
